Contest Timeline

  • Monday, January 6, 2025 Reminders sent to students in announcements

  • Monday, February 3, 2025 Reminders sent to students in announcements

  • Friday, February 28, 2025 Deadline for submissions to be received

  • Friday, March 21, 2025 Selection of seven entries from each grade level completed by in-house and community judges

  • Friday, April 4, 2025 Selection of winning entries from each grade level completed by in-house and community judges

  • Friday, April 11, 2025 District-wide winners are announced

  • Thursday, April 16, 2025 Literary Achievement Awards Ceremony held at the Wells High School Auditorium, 6:00 PM

Students submitting entries are required to:

Grades K-2 may submit a handwritten copy to the classroom teacher. Grades 3-Adult Ed will digitally submit a typed copy. Directions can be found on the cover sheet.

  1. Please, only one entry per student.

  2. Your written piece should be in a 12-point font and 1.5 line spacing. Entries should not be more than 10 pages in length.

  3. Make certain the author's name or personally identifiable information only appears on the cover page.

  4. Signed cover page and submission of your best writing turned in by February 28, 2025.
